Considering how bored I am just waiting for this kid to weasel his way out of my womb, I finally finished all my thank you cards from baby showers and baby gifts. Though I did not count all the cards I made and the cards I wrote since that first baby shower in October, I’m going to guess that it’s way over 50. We are so lucky to have that many people in our lives who are willing to show us love and support through all of this. Needless to say, no one is getting a Christmas card. This kid is due between -5 days ago and December 22 (induction date). Besides, our gift to the families this year is a grandson/great-grandson/nephew/cousin. I couldn’t begin to top that with a handmade card.
Making some man cards. April 17, 2009
Not sure if it’s just me or there aren’t materials out there for it, but making man cards is super hard. First off, I can’t think of a man in my life who truly wants a card (apart from my super manly man <3). Secondly, I can’t imagine giving a guy a crafted card period. Maybe a hug or gift card seems more appropriate. Regardless. Here is my attempt at making a man card.
Ribbon Parade April 15, 2009
In my congested boredom this afternoon after hours of drifting between sleep and sneezes, I managed to make a card. In a ribbon tutorial I’d seen earlier this year, I discovered the art of the ribbon. What you see here is a travesty in comparison to how I was introduced to it. My stapler rejected the ribbon repeatedly and never actually pierced the ribbon at all. Apologies for the haphazard nature of it all, but I sort of like it.
Embellish Your Own Patterned Paper April 14, 2009
In light of having not made a card in over a week (I know, forgive me), I worked super hard on this one. Not to say it turned out super sweet, but literally took an hour making this damn card. Each dot you see, and don’t see, embellished on the teal paper was done one at a time. I self inked the pink paper; it was white but I needed pink to tie in the star. This card was essentially a pain in the ass, but it is going to someone very derserving.
Embellishing your own patterned paper is as easy as stamping and embellishing. Seriously. Try it.
Color Inspiration #48 April 7, 2009

These color inspirations are ridiculously hard considering I don’t have to actually color card stock. I’m doing as best as I can. Even though this was a little last minute, I realized I hadn’t chipped in my offer. So here it is. Not so proud but I had to do it.
Almost done with invitations… March 31, 2009
Ever since I got this massive pack of embellished scraps, I’ve been doing all I can to incorporate them into my invitations and cards. Sometimes, that screws me over. But these two turned out ok. I especially like the fishies. I’ve had that ribbon for at least 4 years now. Honestly, it’s time to use it up. BUT IT’S SO CUTE!!

KWerner Color Inspiration #47 March 27, 2009

This was a fun challenge! Recently, my creative juices haven’t been flowing. This challenge definitely helped. Kristina has been using chip board letters lately and inspired me to do that same. Who knew you could emboss wood though!?!? No clue on the materials used; those flowers are at least three years old. Hopefully others think it looks as cute as I do.
A note of thanks. March 13, 2009
Yesterday, my blog started out with a bang. The link on Kristina’s page sent me to nearly 200 views. Reasonably lower today, but hey, at least some one saw and liked the card. Today’s is a note of thanks going out in the mail tomorrow. Hopefully the receiver likes it as much as I do. It’s one of my faves.
