This is what I look like a day over due.  Notice: no pants, no makeup (hidden by camera) and no baby.  It is becoming increasingly difficult to sleep at night for a number of reasons: completely uncomfortable, anxious like Christmas morning, and all around pregnancy-induced misery.  Unfortunately, Husband is bearing the brunt of my misery.  The emotional and physical exhaustion of being this pregnant has destroyed my usual happy-go-lucky persona.  I try and make it up to him by continuing to nest the house into tip top shape and cooking dinner after his work day.  Not sure it’s working though.  Frankly, I don’t blame him.

Today did produce somewhat promising results however.  I deep cleaned my frig/freezer, both bathrooms, my stove (even got under the range), my crafting corner, and our bedroom.  There is nothing else to do in the Baby’s room, so all I can do is stare at it.  And at this point, an empty yet complete baby room is insulting.

Please, anyone who reads this, send us labor vibes.  We’re all ready for baby to come out except baby.  But, by golly, it’s time.

Needless to say, I’m freaking. Every so often, I wake up in a panic. Sometimes I fear labor. Sometimes I wake up because someone tried killing me or my baby in my dreams. But most of the time, I wake up needing to pee.

Tonight, I sat in the rocker in Mikey’s room in attempts to acclimate myself to how normal it is going to feel soon. Normally, I just look at the room, not spending too much time in there. Kept looking around, trying to invent things we need to go buy before little one gets here. The past few days have been full of me telling DH that we need this, or that, or all these tiny things in order to be fully prepared. It was there in the rocker tonight that I realized what was really going on: I’ve been trying to justify why I as a mother don’t feel prepared by pretending we need all these insignificant things.   So of course, I cried. Husband came in to talk to me, hug me, and remind me that no mother ever feels 100% ready for their first, second or nineteenth baby. Baby’s room is awesome, complete, and full of everything he could possibly need. My boobies work fine. Husband and I are in totally in love with Fetus Baby and that’s not going to change once he gets here.

All in all, tonight was the final freak out. Hopefully, from here on out, things will be smooth sailing. Including labor.

Decided to cut my hair today.  It turned out ok, considering I did it myself.  Often times, that goes horribly wrong.  But today, my scissors managed to work with me, not against me.  After watching Amanda Jane and her comprehensive tutorial on “how to cut your own side bangs”, I picked up not-quality scissors and slowly went to town on the left side of my head. If I get around to it, I’ll post a picture. It’s about time for a new preggers shot anyway.

Decorating wise, we’re done.  I finished this project earlier this week.  The letters are all spread out with palm trees flanking the ends.  Really, it’s very precious.

As for the pregnancy, we’re done with birthing classes.  Yesterday, I was informed that nearly anything in a car with a baby in a car seat is a potential projectile and should be thrown out the window.  Who knew mirrors and window shades were dangerous?

Tomorrow is the 38 week mark.  If Baby Mikey decides to poke his little head out tomorrow, I’m going to be pissed.  I have been looking forward to eating Thanksgiving dinner this whole pregnancy.  And by god, I’m going to get it.

At this point, the husband and I have discussed at length what to pack for the hospital (more or less, it is me saying “Honey, we should probably bring this right?” “Yes dear.”).  We’re following some crap list we found online and customized it to reality. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated at this point.

I got to the doctor Friday.  After talking to her at length about the flu shot and the H1N1 vaccine, I have decided to postpone both until Junior arrives.  There have been no drugs in this child thus far (save a few Tylenol) so I am not chancing shots and vaccines while he is still in utero.

Husband got this sweet ass carrier in the mail today. We ordered it from Baby Steals, which is a great website that sells really awesome baby products/baby-related products on the super cheap. For all your preggo moms and dads out there, I recommend the site highly. Book mark it!
